The Permanent Mission of St. Vincent and the Grenadines represents the the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the United Nations. We are the primary channel for communications between the Vincentian Government and the United Nations in New York City.
Ambassador Camillo Gonsalves, St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, leads the delegation. Through diplomacy, negotiation and daily monitoring of UN activities, we work to advance St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ interests, promote international development, security and human rights, and keep our Government informed on multilateral issues.
Our diplomats represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the General Assembly, on the Economic and Social Council, and at the many specialized UN commissions, committees, and conferences. At these UN meetings, Vincentian diplomats explain our national positions on global issues and learn the views of other member states. By negotiating the resolutions and international treaties that guide state behaviour, they help to promote peaceful relations and a stable, prosperous world.
Ambassador Gonsalves is the official spokesman for the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the United Nations. He is assisted by Counsellor Nedra Miguel and Attaché Mozart Carr. The Permanent Mission has a staff of five full-time employees.
